I am an experienced English teacher of both Literature and Language, and also Classical Studies at High School level. You will find text-based resources for novels, poetry, plays and film study in my shop for Years 7 - 13. The resources are generic to the text so are suitable for any curriculum. I am also a passionate believer in effective literacy learning hence the emphasis on phonics resources in my shop.

A neat game for your students who are developing phonemic awareness with syllable sounds. There are 5 African vistas. 30 pictures / cards. The number on the vista pictures corresponds to the number of syllables in the animal’s name on the card(s) the students receive. Students have to sound out the syllables and place the card next to the correct number. This resource is great for helping students understand that recognising sounds is essential before they begin writing words. Can be used as a cut and paste game, individual or group activity.

This is a neat confidence boosting activity for early literacy.
